Rev. Johnny A Ford is a dedicated pastor whose journey in ministry began in 1991. In
2013, he received a divine vision to plant a church, leading to the establishment
of House of God Church where he now passionately shepherds his congregation. In
addition to preaching the gospel, Pastor Ford serves as the regional site manager for A
Father's Place in Conway, SC—a role he embraces as a ministry that supports both the
staff and the fathers they serve. He formerly served as Executive Director for Teach My
People, an afterschool program in Pawleys Island, for five years; and was the project
manager for the Americorps Vista Program for Georgetown County United Way. Pastor
Ford has been serving his community of Georgetown County in the non-profit sector for
more than 20 years. He has served on several community boards, and most
recently completed two terms as a board member of the Georgetown County Chamber
of Commerce.
He has an ordination from the Missionary Baptist Association where he served for 18
years; and he also holds an ordination from the Christian Leaders Institute. He has a
bachelor’s degree in Christian Education from Grand Canyon University.
Pastor Ford is happily married to the former Lynne Bessellieu, and they call Pawleys
Island home. Together they have three sons, Devon, Joshua, and Caleb. His grandson,
DJ, aged 9, truly holds a special place in his heart.
